Air Handling Unit
An air handling unit, commonly called an AHU, is the composition of elements mounted in large, accessible box-shaped units called modules, which house the appropriate ventilation requirements for purifying, air- conditioning or renewing the indoor air in a building or premises.
They are usually installed on the roof of buildings and, through ducts, the air is circulated to reach each of the rooms in the building in question.
Types of AHU's
(1) Floor mounted type
(2) Ceiling suspended type
(3) Vertical type
- Our Manufactured AHU's are based on a self-supporting frame structure. Their modular casing, design with individual compartments comprising various functional assemblies, ensures that each unit matches induvial application requirements pefectly.
- Although material may vary with the Unit size & application, all AHU's are of a simr construction: namely an outer frame-work of posts, assembled using knock in comers, into which double skin, insulated panels are fitted to form a rigid , airtight construction.
- Double skin insulated panels are available in 25 mm & 43 mm (Without Thermal Break & with Thermal Break) with uniform density of 38+1-2 kg/m3. Various options are available such as Pre-Coated GI Sheet, Plain GI sheet, SS-304 & SS-316 sheet in various thickness for Inner & outer skin.
- AHU section are generally supplied with a sturdy channel base support frame, complete with lifting holes to facilitate cra-neage.
- All internal components, such as the Fan and Motor assembly, are built in to the unit section and are provided with access or removable panels, if necessary, to facilitate maintenance and removal.
- All form of components commonly utilized in air handling equipment can be incorporated into the design such as Fitters, Heaters, Coolers, Humidifiers, attenuators, Plate type Heat Exchangers & Thermal Wheel System.
